January 5, the first trading day of Japan’s main aquatic products wholesale market, a black tuna from Japan’s Hokkaido (Japan’s northernmost island) sold for high prices of 32.49 million Yen (about 391,445 U.S. dollars), it is the highest price since the beginning of the statistics in 1999.
